Alyx is an un-gifted earthbound angel. She's a warrior to the Earthbound Angels. She uses blades and "borrowed magic" from distilled angel blood tattoos to disperse demons and rogue angels.
Symon is like a father, and he's in charge of her unit, since her parents abandoned her to become rogues.
She's a daring one. Illegal night races and such.
I like her as a character.
Strong yet feminine. But not whiny.
And after the announcement ball oh wow! Yea and that's just the first jaw dropper I encountered!

The first ten chapters kind of drug along. And from there to chapter fourteen it was hit and miss for me.
Chapter sixteen marks my need to know point when my nails get bit. I zone out and the outside world is essentially gone.
Getting lost in a book is the reason I read! It turns into a mental movie and from chapter sixteen on I found my reading picking up seriously. Its a really fast paced ride after the bombshells Alyx uncovers.
This definitely turned out to be a delightfully good read!

So Alyxandria is an ungifted earthbound angel.
She's a lightwarrior and a good one. Even though she's still in school. Mentored by Symon her father figure since both parents left her to become rogues.She uses borrowed magic by way of tattoos. It's pretty cool.
She's having dreams or visions. Some speculations point toward Oracle... interesting.
She gets sent to get specially trained by a very grumpy yet gifted Mayrekk.
She's getting great tips plus no straight answers from him. Only hints and shushed convo.
There's definitely a bigger picture she frustratingly can't see.
She meets the mysterious Jordan who says find me when you need me and you will....

Mayrekk has her "find" someone he only calls "him" and she does but still gets no straight answers!
She goes to the "announcement" ball and gets "promised" to the son of Michael the lead elder.... Daniel.
He showed interest before but now calls her "my promised".... creepy LOL.
He's a Castus aka popular and privileged earthbound angel.
He's a bit pushy... Yea that's it.
Her friends are happy for her but not with her. They feel abandoned mostly and she's stunned and bewildered.
She just wants to be a lightwarrior. Fighting the darkened is all she's known.
Then it happens. She has a vision or dream of "him" and he's in danger. Alyx has an overwhelming need to help him. She goes at a moments notice and saves him from a darkened. He shouldn't be able to see what they really are.
She makes him leave only after she promises to meet him again.
she is quickly gaining the suspicion of her peers with her cover up but has no choice but to follow her gut.
Later Michael calls her to a meeting.
She's punished and not allowed to leave the city for four weeks.
No more lightwarrior status, only patrol duties til she's entwined with Daniel. Great! Now how's she supposed to meet "him" and get her blade back?!
She sneaks into the restricted part of the records hall and finds more than she bargained for in the Rogue file.
Truth... about Jordan and about her parents unsanctioned pregnancy and escape. Plus that one died trying to take her from the city and the other is out there somewhere.
She confronts Symon and he begs her to let it be. She leaves and sneaks out to meet "him".
They touch just once and she feels bound to protect him. He felt it too but she leaves quickly. His name is Israel.
On her way back she stumbles upon Daniel and the evil Castus vixen Constantine. But Daniel's quick with answers and Alyx knows he's lying. She heard plenty, including the fact Michael is the one who matched them.
Speaking of Michael he was talking about her and she overheard that too. Prophecies and what not. He took loafs of threads from the archives restricted section. Now she won't read about this prophecy. That was before she went to meet Israel.
Anyway after Daniel trying to sweet talk her and her not buying his phony bologna it goes to a scene of her and Symon. They're weapons training.
Alyx can't seem to focus but who blames her with the whoppers she's been unearthing! She thinks she sees Israel the mortal and gets knock on her behind.
Later that night Israel appears in her room. Apparently thinking about her brought a semi see through version of both together. Both in their own rooms but together and they can touch....
They talk till morning.
She goes to Mayrekk he explains that she's Israel's guardian and must protect him because he has an important destiny.
He tells her to find the prophecy.
She breaks into Elder Michael's pod and finds confusing info.
She was spotted by an animale. A familiar of an Elder. But they're blaming her for stealing an amulet she didn't take. She's warned by Symon and has to hide out.
She has to find a way to out Michael's evil plan.
She has to leave so she slips out of the city. She finds Israel and stays the night with him.
The next day they ho to the market which was fun.....
Then they spar... and Alyx gets to train him to fight.
I'm loving their chemistry!
They are definitely getting closer and Alyx isn't sure what to make of that.
They go to arm up and break into an antique store when they're spotted by Yael and Do'hann.
They give chase and have to drop to the underground. In the sewers they encounter Israel's old gang. He has to invoke Horatii. Mason chooses the fighters and he chooses Terrapin and Alyx... needless to say that pretty much peeves Israel but there's nothing he can do but watch!
Well I bet you are wondering who won that fight and how it went down.... but I am not going to tell you!
I will say they made their peace.
Mason the head of the gang.
Mason takes them back to their place and feeds them and honor Alyx and rename her Dark Angel to the Clan of the Saints.
Offering their help in times of need and an open door.
It's bed time and Mason comes to talk to Alyx.
He tells her that he knows how she feels about Israel. He had told Israel earlier that he knew how he felt about Alyx. They're so obviously falling hard for each other when an awkward conversation between them has Alyx downplaying feelings they have for each other. Putting it off as a Guardian Bond thing. (Really!! That was frustrating!)
She learned earlier that Mason knew what she was and that Israel has second sight.
Alyx and Israel decide to sleep a few hours and head out in the morning.
Back at the theater Alyx finally realizes she's free. Free of the rules and the Elders. She flies with Israel. They talk about scars and tattoos.... and they finally kiss!!!!! They go back to the theater and make the most of their night.
That night Alyx awakens in a dreamscape with Elder Michael. He's trying to find her location.
She and Israel leave the theater.
An abandoned warehouse is their new refuge...
They go out to search for Adere and find mythical greater demons.
Michael tries to torture Alyx in a nightmare that Jordan rescues her from! She goes to meet him and when she steps out, Adere visits Israel's dreamscape.
Gets him to meet her at Remembrance Park where he's captured by Michael's lightwarriors. Meanwhile Alyx is back at the warehouse looking for him when they appear to each other through the guardian bond.
He's being held in a cell in the Hollows. Alyx goes to Jordan for help and Michael has talked Gabriel out of his piece of the Trinity amulet. Alyx and Jordan sneak into Michealea the Seraphim City. They knock out two lightwarriors guarding Mayrekk's house. Mayrekk fesses up about Raphael's prophecy and what a whopper!!!!
He gives her a necklace that Raphael left for her then tattoos her with all the bloodink he has left.
She goes to the Hollows and gets captured.... ugh!
Michael demands she tell him which piece of her jewelry leads to the third amulet piece. She says she hasn't a clue and he lashes her back with a whip. He leaves her passed out covered in blood. Israel tells her about his relationship with Adere and she convinces herself that he loves Adere and not her. But Passar her friend breaks them and a young human girl out. He's leading them to safety when Alyx puts two and two together. Passar is working for the demons now...
She eventually puts him out with DreamWalker and runs into Jordan and two other rogues. They send Lukas ahead with Israel and the girl from the Hollows and turn to hold off the lightwarriors.
Alyx tries to tell them the truth but they are stubborn and the demons Passar called are quickly approaching. Alyx suggests they fight the darkened together but the lightwarriors think she is with the darkened. When they approach she uses sparrow to her advantage and tells them they are with the sparrow and need help against the lightwarriors.
It gets them a chance to get away but she knows in that moment she sealed her fate and will never be allowed to return home.
Holed up in Tara with Jordan Alyx calls the girl Mini and it sticks. She eats like she's never had food before and all she has said is min-ee.
Israel awakens after being knocked out ....again! Alyx is there and she tells him he has to stop looking for Adere. He says he can't and Alyx is resolved. She tells him there can be no "us" and they agree to be friends but the heartbreak is clear...
And just as all the pieces are falling into place as Jordan and Alyx talk with linked hands..... to be continued!!!!!!
