Oh. My. Wow! I am stunned and I think hungover by this trilogy! As a final installment in this series it was... EPIC! So much goes down and revelations turn it all on it's head.

Everything you thought you had figured out is put to the test in this book. I loved every second of this read!! And I cried! I cried hard and I am thinking I ugly cried for a few minutes too! Very gut wrenching but I think change is harsh and sacrifice is brave...

The plot is unique and very creative. I was pretty angry for alot of this read but it really is truly a great read. I love the characters and the ever twisting plot. I also easily imagined the world and got lost in it as well. I enjoyed reading this trilogy so much and will be buying these books for my kids to read as well. I will not spoil this book for you at all but I will say that you will not be disappointed by any book in the trilogy!

I recommend it several times over! Tess is brave and strong and vulnerable. She is the perfect balance of all I could ever hope for in an MC. And each supporting role in this book is emphasized well and easily believable no matter how depraved they are. I was thrown for a loop more than once and was definitely happy about the lack of predictability. It kept me hanging on every word until the very, very end!! I think I need to take a book break to process everything LOL! It was just so very good!!!

Lost Souls Book 1

Life is bleak but uncomplicated for sixteen-year-old Tess, living in a not-too-distant future where the government, faced with humanity's extinction, created the Chosen Ones, artificial beings who are extraordinarily beautiful, unbelievably strong, and unabashedly deadly.

When Tess begins work at Templeton, a Chosen Ones training facility, she meets James, and the attraction is immediate in its intensity, overwhelming in its danger. But there is more to Templeton than Tess ever knew. Can she stand against her oppressors, even if it means giving up the only happiness in her life?

Okay so right off the bat I wanted to punch something. Reading the parts describing the world that Tess was living in and the degradation of the women in society had me fuming! I had to gather my thoughts and move on with a deep breath.

Tess is a tough cookie and every part the woman that her current world has shaped her into. She is basically emotionless but still brimming with emotions. It was a delicate balance and an internal war that we get to pay witness to as she embarks on her path set by the Chosen Ones. This dystopian setting has women as weak and basically useless people unable to bear children and looked down upon for feelings of love. Tess watches her sister die and has to bury her all while keeping her emotions in check. I have no clue how she managed it, but figure the conditioning of the humans or "naturals" has everything to do with that composure that is both awe inspiring and scary as hell.

She has to take her sisters place as the oldest female in her family to serve the Chosen Ones at Templeton, their training facility. Tess quickly discovers there are alot of secrets being kept from the Naturals. Things get complicated fast as she wades through new found emotions brought on by a mysterious Chosen One, James. She quickly finds out just how disturbing her world ruled by Chosen Ones, which are "humans" created and not born, can you say creepy!? I was stunned more than once and on edge a whole lot! It was a highly emotional read for me!

I so was not ready for this book! This story is compelling and addicting to read. I had a NEED to know fervor to my reading and had to keep going until I read the very last word!! I enjoyed this read immensely!

I search for good YA constantly and this definitely falls into the YA to read category for me and I recommend it highly!

Lost Souls Book 2
Tess is finally safe from the reach of the Council, now that she is living in the Middlelands with the rebel Isolationists. With James having returned to Templeton, she easily falls back into her friendship with Henry, though her newfound knowledge of Robert’s chosen one status still stings. Even surrounded by people, Tess has never felt more alone. So she’s thrilled when James returns to the settlement, demanding to see Tess — until she finds out that it’s because her sister, Louisa, has been recruited into Tess’s old position at Templeton, and that the dangerously sadistic chosen one George has taken an interest in her.

Life is changed forever for Tess, she knows so much now. She is enlightened and well on her way to a sort of freedom with the Isolationists. She knows love and hate and hurt now and it better for it all.

The world around her is so much more than what had been taught to her. Life is different, Tess is different, an exception, she can have children, it was unheard of and she never thought it would be possible. Having left behind James and said goodbye she is running for her life to the safety of the Isolationists and she is reunited with her friend Henry. I both like and don't like him. I am so team James but i suppose that's complicated...

Again the harsh treatment of women boiled my blood in this book but it was an extremely good read. The plot is so unique and so powerful that I was ready to join the resistance myself LOL!

I was terrified for a good portion of this book being team James and all but man oh man was it edge of your seat nail bitingly good! I am really loving this series and cannot wait to read Creators!! Can you say roller coaster!?? Wow, just wow!!
