Title: Revolutionary (Anomaly #3)
Author: Krista McGee
Publish Date: 7/15/2014
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
All her life Thalli thought she was an
anomaly. Now she must use her gifts to fulfill the role she was called to play:
Revolutionary.
Back in the underground State against her will, Thalli is no longer the anomaly she was before. She has proven herself to be a powerful leader aboveground and returns with information that Dr. Loudin needs to complete his plan of uniting the world under one leader: himself. But he, too, has information. A secret he has kept from Thalli her entire life. A secret that, once revealed, changes everything about the person Thalli thought she was.
Hoping to help Thalli rise up against the Scientists, both Berk and Alex join her underground, but their presence only brings more trouble for her. Now Dr. Loudin knows just the leverage to use on his captive, and she is forced to choose between the two of them. Is her first love her true love? Or does Alex ultimately claim her heart?
Unsure of everything around her, including her own identity, Thalli doesn’t know where to turn. She knows she needs the Designer, but he seems further away than ever. What she does know, though, is that if she doesn’t do something to stop Loudin, the fragile world aboveground will be lost once and for all.

Book 1
Thalli has fifteen
minutes and twenty-three seconds left to live. The toxic gas that will
complete her annihilation is invading her bloodstream. But she is not
afraid.
Thalli is different than others in The State. She feels things. She asks questions. And in the State, this is not tolerated. The Ten scientists who survived the nuclear war that destroyed the world above believe that emotion was at the core of what went wrong—and they have genetically removed it from the citizens they have since created. Thalli has kept her malformation secret from those who have monitored her for most of her life, but when she receives an ancient piece of music to record as her community’s assigned musician, she can no longer keep her emotions secreted away.
Seen as a threat to the harmony of her Pod, Thalli is taken to the Scientists for immediate annihilation. But before that can happen, Berk—her former Pod mate who is being groomed as a Scientist—steps in and persuades the Scientists to keep Thalli alive as a test subject.
The more time she spends in the Scientist’s Pod, the clearer it becomes that things are not as simple as she was programmed to believe. She hears stories of a Designer—stories that fill her mind with more questions: Who can she trust? What is this emotion called love? And what if she isn’t just an anomaly, but part of a greater design?

Book 2
She was an anomaly with a death sentence. Now she's free.
Thalli was scheduled for annihilation. She was considered an anomaly--able to experience emotions that should have been eradicated by genetic modification. The Scientists running the State couldn't allow her to bring undue chaos to their peaceful, ordered world. But seconds before her death, she is rescued.
Now Thalli is above ground in a world she thought was destroyed. A world where not even the air is safe to breathe. She and her three friends must journey across this unknown land, their destination a hidden civilization. It's their only chance of survival.
Broken and exhausted after an arduous journey, they arrive in New Hope, a town that survived the nuclear holocaust. When Thalli meets the people there--people actually "born" to "families"--her small world is blown wide open.
Soon after their arrival to New Hope, the town comes under attack. She has escaped imminent death, but now Thalli is thrust into a new fight--a fight to save her new home. Does she know enough about this world of emotions, this world of chaos, to save not only herself, but the people she has come to love?

I have put the reviews in reading order.
Book 1
Thalli lives in an underground where life as we know it is forever changed.
She is a musician and resides in a world
without emotion. Where people are created in labs and placed into proper groups
which act and live according to the rules and logic of society. But Thalli is
different and unique. Defective to some, she is an anomaly.
She has a rough time in this book but the
journey was epic and very big screen sci-fi for me. The prologue got me sucked
in and kept me intrigued. There wasn't any point that I lost interest either.
It was so good and I love the idea of the scientists and the Designer too.
It's a well-developed fictional world
that was easy to imagine and get lost in.
The characters were great and I fell in
instalove with them too! John was an easy to love kinda guy and Berk was one of
my favorite characters!
I was shocked more than once and was
enamored with the entire plot.
I am excited to have the next two books
in the series to read! Excellent YA read that will keep you glued to the pages
to the very end!!
4 of 5 stars
Book 2
OMG! I didn't see that coming!!
Seriously I had a WTH moment at exactly
at the half way mark! And you know what? Those moments just kept on coming!
Unpredictable, beautifully written and
packed with action and intrigue. This is Dystopia in perfect form.
Thalli is facing an even harder road
ahead as she, Berk, Rhen and John set out to see what is out in the world after
making their escape from State. A search for survivors in a dangerous time is
risky but they must try. Once they discover others they are drawn into a war
between two kingdoms.
It was a truly epic read so imaginative
and engaging.
I really truly loved every single second.
The characters are just so good. You will love them all for sure.
I am so excited and relieved to have
Revolutionary in my grasp! MUST READ IT NOW! LOL!
I recommend this series highly. I really
love all of the bits having to do with the Designer. It warms my heart how all
of that is explained and handled. Now onto book 3 Revolutionary!!
5 of 5 stars
Book 3
I
am blown away, nearly speechless.
I
am so happy that I had the opportunity to participate in this book tour. The
Anomaly Trilogy is an epic Dystopian read.
The characters will pull you in while the plot keeps you intrigued.
There
is tons of action and emotion in there too. I laughed, cried, swooned and was
just floored at some points in this extraordinary read.
This third installment of the trilogy was everything I hoped that it would be and so much more. The creativity of the author is astounding. Krista McGee has taken me to the world she created and I have been to New Hope, Athens and State. The scenery that the descriptive text provides is like watching a movie.
I
was completely immersed in the story right along with Thalli. I got so
frustrated, felt hopeless at times for those who opposed the mad man in this
book. I was proud of Thalli as an MC she was so relatable and real.
Some
of the plot twists took me completely and utterly by surprise. This last
installment was a heart pounding, nail biting, chill inducing, suspenseful read
and I enjoyed every jaw dropping second of it!!!
My
favorite characters were Berk and Alex as well as Thalli and Rhen. I am trying
to figure out how to tell you how much I loved this book without giving
anything away! LOL! It was just so, so good!!!
I
am going to recommend this Trilogy to anyone who loves YA and is looking for a
great Sci-fi or Dystopian series! This is one that will go into my Favorite
Trilogies of 2014!!
I
am so unbelievably proud of Krista McGee for utilizing her knowledge of God and
intertwining that into the mix. I think the Designer is a great way to
introduce God to a people who knew nothing of Him. Great job on that
integration.
Don't
make the mistake of counting this series out because you don't believe in God
or feel that has no place in your fiction. Try it. You may just have the read
of a lifetime.
5 EPIC STARS!!!
Krista writes for teens,
teaches teens, and more often than not, acts like a teen. She and her family
have lived and ministered in Texas, Costa Rica, and Spain. Her current hometown
is Tampa, FL.
