BLOG TOUR - Stormfront by K.R. Conway

Stormfront (Undertow #2)
Release Date: 08/18/14

Not long ago Eila Walker’s choices were limited: death by a bullet to the head, or at the hands of her beloved bodyguard, Raef. Now, five weeks after Raef triggered her power and she nearly leveled a historic mansion, Eila is dealing with the fall-out of her decisions. While she doesn’t remember dying in the arms of the soul thief who loves her, she knows that Raef remembers everything about the night he nearly killed her.

Now on the mend and attempting to keep one step ahead of the FBI, Eila and her team of misfits are desperate for a bit of normal. Eila is trying to navigate high school, while her BFF Ana is cautiously hanging with past-boyfriend and soul thief, Kian. Shape-shifter, MJ, is trying not to piss off his mother, while Raef is coping with his fears that Eila will never be safe.

But just as “normal” seems within their grasp, a powerfully built newcomer arrives. Raef knows the scarred man as a Blacklist Dealer – a soul thief, who peddles the names of humans who deserve to die. Eila, however, knows him as the protective hunter from the woods, who she nicknames Thor. Before long, Raef and Eila realize they’ve met the same killer, and he has one hell of a story to tell the five friends . . . if Raef doesn’t murder him first.

I am seriously happy that I had the books to read back to back even though the author didn't leave us at a terrible cliffhanger. But she definitely left me wanting more!

I am completely invested in the cast and the phenomenal story telling of K.R. Conway. Eila is a great MC and surrounded by one of my all time favorite casts of characters. Speaking of characters... I cried in the first few pages at some recap... yeah. That's all I am going to say about that.

This is a spoiler free review...

And Oh. My. Yes. There is something to be said for dual POV! I love that we get Raef's perspective in this book. It makes for a very, very good read! I love the continued but developing plot and storyline. I love everything that is happening in this book it runed out to be quite an adventurous and swoontastic read!

Seriously! The storyline though...
I just love this book! I don't want to spoil anything but you will not be disappointed if you give this series a read! It's YA Fiction at it's best! I love the Undertow Series!!

I was captivated! I read this one in record time and was fully satisfied at the end. And oh my wow! That ending! I NEED the next book! When will we get book 3?!

Do I recommend it? Heck yes I do! YA lovers don't think just buy!

Book 1

My introduction to The Cape and Eila were definitely great experiences. That is something this book was great at. You felt like you were experiencing the things that Eila was. Getting used to the small town vibe and snotty cheerleader drama turned out to be the least of our MC's worries.

The swoon factor is definitely covered with the boys of the Cape and the recent transfer to Eila's school, Raef. Not to mention his older brother Kian. There is some serious plot building and I really do enjoy some good plot building before everything goes to crap. It gives us a chance to get invested in our characters lives and build those love/hate relationships that we tend to have with them.

I really loved the way the story progressed and the plot may have held some tropes but they were executed so well that I just loved every one of them. There was definitely not a dull moment for me because of the characters being so well defined. My desire to know what was happening with each and every one of them kept me speed reading after a while. You want plot twists well this book has them.

I love that the characters are all relatable to true life even with the unusual paranormal twists. It was not what I expected it to be once we figure out what is really going on in the small town. I love it when I am surprised by a story and I most definitely was with Undertow! And oh my wow when the shiz hit the fan! Wow! I definitely ended up an emotional mess. But that's always a plus.

This is just a really great piece of YA Fiction that I recommend to readers of all ages. K.R. Conway keeps you guessing and definitely yearning for more!!

SPOILER WARNING***
One of my favorite things about this series is what it is about beyond a girl named Eila.
"Two races, descended from warring angels, locked in a genetic loathing for centuries."

I have been a journalist for 15 years and serve on the Board of Directors for the Cape Cod Writers Center. I also drive a 16-ton school bus because I am ENTIRELY NUTS.

In addition to working jobs that should come with a warning label , I hold a BA in Psychos (Forensic Psych), torment the tourists about Jaws, and occasionally jump from the Town Neck bridge in an attempt to reclaim my youth.

I live on Cape Cod with two smallish humans who apparently are my kids, my fishing-obsessed husband, two canines (adept at both flatulence and snoring), and a cage-defiant lovebird that sleeps in a miniature tent. Nope - that's not a type-o. The bird is quite the indoor camper.
