The Soul Seekers Series

by

This book was a great teaser and such an amazing idea. I was all about the Evermore series and I was instantly hooked on Daire's story after reading this. It is definitely worth the read if you have read Evermore and haven't begun the Soul Seekers!
Happy Reading Y'all!

Now onto these Reviews!
Three Reviews
One Great Series!
Fated
book 1

Until now, he's existed only in her dreams - but fate is about to bring them together.I shove through the crowd, knocking into girls and bouncing off boys, until one in particular catches me, steadies me.

I feel so secure, so at home in his arms.

I melt against his chest-lift my gaze to meet his. Gasping when I stare into a pair of icy blue eyes banded by brilliant flecks of gold that shine like kaleidoscopes, reflecting my image thousands of times.

The boy from my dream.

The one who died in my arms.

Strange things are happening to Daire Santos. Crows mock her, glowing people stalk her, time stops without warning, and a beautiful boy with unearthly blue eyes haunts all her dreams. Fearing for her daughter’s sanity, Daire’s mother sends her to live with the grandmother she’s never met. A woman who recognizes the visions for what they truly are—the call to her destiny as a Soul Seeker—one who can navigate the worlds between the living and dead.

There on the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico, Daire sets out to harness her mystical powers. But it’s when she meets Dace, the boy from her dreams, that her whole world is shaken to its core. Now Daire is forced to discover if Dace is the one guy she's meant to be with...or if he’s allied with the enemy she's destined to destroy.

Fated is the first installment in The Soul Seekers Series by Alyson Noel.
I first read Daire Meets Ever and I knew I had to read this series! I absolutely love the Evermore series and was excited to get another series from Alyson Noel.
Storyline-
The story begins with Paloma Santos, Daire’s grandmother who is grieving the loss of Django, Daire’s father. His sudden death had the gifted woman suspicious. She sensed that Django’s then girlfriend Jennika was with child. A child that had been foretold and the last Santos. She leaves and goes away keeping her distance from her unborn granddaughter and remaining silent until it was time, time to teach the child all she needed to know to fulfill her fate.
I am most certainly into the beginning of this book. I like that it has an exotic feel to it. Glamorous even, Daire’s mom, Jennika is a top award winning, makeup artist and has Daire with her wherever she goes. Daire has grown up on movie sets around celebrities behind homeschooled or tutored on the go.
All of her romantic interests have always been stars or rising stars. Guys so full of themselves mostly. But even if they were genuine she was never in one place long enough to form a lasting relationship.
She has begun having visions and thinks she is losing it. On this particular trip she has an episode and assaults a guy she liked who also happened to be the star of the movie. That’s after other strange things and this can no longer be ignored. She has to leave Morocco and Jennika has to leave her job to take Daire to the U.S. to get some help.
Once in the U.S. Jenikka gets a call out of the blue from Paloma but is not buying that it even is Paloma, Daire’s super hard to find grandmother. Paloma apparently shares some shockers with Jennika that quickly get her attention. She knows about Daire’s episodes somehow and convinces Jennika that she can help.
Quickly running out of options Jennika takes Daire to New Mexico to get help and spend some time with her long lost grandmother.
Daire is not happy to say the least and feelings of abandonment creep in. She keeps seeing the crows and knows she needs some kind of help, she just isn’t sure that being abandoned in Enchantment, New Mexico is the answer. She gives her mom a hard time and her mom is determined but still unsure.
In desperate times what sort of choice does she have when the alternative is putting Daire in a mental facility and having her medicated.
Paloma has sent a friend to collect Daire at a café in town and her friend Chay is happy to meet her but she’s leery of going off with this strange man and annoyed that Jennika is being so trusting. She meets Paloma and they have plenty to discuss but Daire is still upset at being dumped.
Daire explores her surroundings giving Paloma who she is sure is crazy a hard time. Paloma enrolls her in school and she isn’t happy with having to go to school, she hasn’t really gone to public school.
Everything changes when she meets Dace for the first time, she has dreamed about him and now he is right in front of her very real. A guy who’s mom, Chepi, doesn’t like her from the start.
The first night at her grandmother’s house and Daire is having crazy vivid dreams of crows and mystery people. Of Django.
She finds out little by little what this is all about and is disbelieving but when it all becomes clear all she can do is go with it and listen to someone who knows all too well what she is going through.
She makes a few friends at school and is quickly figuring pout that things in Enchantment are very, very different.
Daire has a lot to learn she is struck by every revelation that she encounters. The world is a very different place than she thought it was. She embarks on an epic journey that is part average teen with school and part huge responsibility with vision quests and medicine women and spirit animals.

When Paloma's life is at stake Daire stops at nothing to save her and the others who need it most. All while trying to keep the Richters from getting what they want most.
It's clear she hasn't seen the last of El Coyote but she is resigned that this battle is far from over.
I absolutely love this concept and the plot. And Dace and Cade's story is intriguing to say the least.
Fated ends with an EPIC buildup and I am trying to keep my review spoiler free but OMG! I was grateful for the wind down at the end but annoyed at Cade's audacity!

Characters - I truly love the characters in this book. the native are mysterious the schoolgirls are shallow, the guys are both great and hot, even if some are full of themselves.
Daire is a really good character that is strong yet unsure but determined.
There are shockers in this book and an interesting look at culture and myth twisted in the supernatural.
I recommend it even if you don't normally read the paranormal stuff! Great YA!

Echo
book 2

She inherited a magical destiny—and a mission to stop a powerful family of dark sorcerers. She never expected to fall in love with one of them. There’s still so much Daire Santos has to learn about being the last Soul Seeker….and about herself.  As her magical training becomes more intense, so does her relationship with Dace.  But when she learns that his connection to the evil Richter family goes far deeper than she ever imagined, she begins to question if love really can conquer all.

Dace is painfully aware that he wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the Richters’ dark magic—and now his brother Cade is determined to use his love for Daire against him.  Dace is willing to sacrifice anything to protect the girl he loves —including his own life.  But will Daire allow it?  And what if defeating Cade costs not only his life, but his soul too?

Enchanting, haunting, romantic, Echo is the second book in the Soul Seekers series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël!

ADD Echo on Goodreads

Echo picks up where Fated left off. Dace had came by after all of the crap that he did to Daire and Paloma. Daire found out so much at the end of Fated and had to battle some Richters too.
She is relaxing only slightly but going into the Lowerworld everyday with Dace to see if they can find the Richters who slipped through.
She is carrying the weight of knowing that Dace is an echo of his twin Cade, who has clearly gone to the dark side.
The brothers were created out of a traumatic conception and were magically separated so that their evil "maker", I wont say father, Leandro could have his evil spawn.
The boys are an evil vs. good split. Jennika was there at the end of book one and she along with so many others were in danger when they Coyote wracked havoc on the town of Enchantment. Daire and Dace were able to save a lot of people, Paloma included. Now Daire is faced with the reality of a prophecy looming over her and Dace her man.

She has a choice to make but she takes as much time with her boyfriend that she loves immensely, they have a seriously intimate encounter and were fooled by Cade. Once he reveals the truth of him and his brothers purpose and creation Dace is shattered because Daire knew and didn't tell him of his origins. He then learns that Cade is feeding off of his and Daire's love so he vows to stay away from her till he can defeat Cade and the Coyote and rid Enchantment of the Richters.

Daire is crushed by his decision but trying to be strong.
She resolves to do the same thing that Dace has said he wanted to do and she skips school to get started. Chay finds her and takes her to Paloma where she has more spirit journeys and learning to do.
She has to be ready to face her destiny.
Meanwhile Dace is out to find out as much as he can about what he is and what his purpose is. Chepi is happy to tell him and while he hates what he is and where he came from she only loves him.
She enlists the help of Leftfoot who is like a father to Dace to enlighten him and help to ready him for the fight ahead.
Jennika comes back to town when she can, to check on Daire. She is rightly worried that she is in danger. She is concerned about Daire's school skipping but as far as Daire is concerned there are more important things going on.
She goes to school long enough to see a new girl and Dace but leaves with Chay to go train with Paloma. She is glad for the exit too.
Dace is not exactly happy to see the new girl Phyre or the old girl new to Daire. He is definitely not need this at the moment.
Daire learning to use fire was really well written, I am in love with the mystique created in the story.
There's a Christmas party and a great night but soon the duties have to be faced.
At Lita's party a lot goes right and I was relieved but it was time to get down to business after that. With Jenikka on her way back to Harlan and L.A, with a wealth of knowledge about what Daire is and the whole seeker thing. She leaves her in Paloma's capable hands.
Daire is more determined than ever to change the echo's prophecy and save her love.
And oh man does it get gritty!

You are just going to have to read it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
OMG! I have never been so happy to have the next series in a book my entire life!

I like the character interaction and the new twists this book brings to the series. I lost hope for awhile not that good would prevail but that love would.
This book twisted my insides and twirled them. A definite emotional rollercoaster. And the end, the end! Oh. My. Gawd! I cried seriously blabbered like a baby!

I recommend this book and this entire series for that matter! You will most certainly not regret it.

Mystic
book 3

Since arriving in the dusty desert town of Enchantment, everything in Daire Santos life has changed...and not always for the better. While she's come to accept and embrace her new powers as a Soul Seeker, Daire struggles with the responsibility she holds navigating between the worlds of the living and the dead--and her mission to defeat the evil Cade Richter.  But Cade's soul is inextricably entwined with that of her boyfriend Dace, putting their love to the ultimate test.  How can she defeat Cade if it means destroying Dace too?  And is their love strong enough to survive death—and what lies beyond?

MYSTIC is the third book in The Soul Seekers, a magnificent new series about a girl who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead, by #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël.

Mystic is book three in this awesome series! It gratefully picks up where my heart shattered in Echo. The emotions ricocheting inside of me at the end of that book were staggering.
Mystic delivers an equally interactively engaging read.
We find Daire with Axel as he was the one we left her with in the last book. She is waking up to the realization of all that has happened minus what happened after she was rushed off.
Her memories are jagged and sparce as she heals slowly, hidden away by Axel. Meanwhile Dace is surrounded by an unfathomable darkness and losing hope of anything other than infinite darkness in his bleak future. They are separated by more than Cade now, one in the Upperworld in hiding and one in the Middleworld stuck in a murky black.
Daire makes a break from the Upperworld unsure of Axel, her savior but she has to see Dace. She returns to find out the forced prophecy was not a prophecy at all but Cade forcing his will, wanting power. He is still in Enchantment but Dace hasn't been seen though their are rumors circulated by Cade himself that Dace is dead. Daire is wracked with fear of it being true but she has to know for herself. In her wounded state Paloma convinces her that they need a plan.
The disappeared prophecy starts to reappear on the codex as Daire figures out what to do next.
Although Lita was previously unaware of the supernatural happenings in Enchantment, by the time Daire returns she has been informed.
She is the one who tells them of the rumors. Daire is healing internally and externally and Paloma insists on helping with a poultice and driving Daire to the Lowerworld to try and find Dace.
Xotichl and Lita go with Daire to the Lowerworld and they stop at the Enchanted spring to see what they can glean from the spot where everything happened.
Daire returns to Paloma's and the elders have gathered. She found out where Dace is and makes plans to get him back and restore his soul somehow.

This was an extremely intense read all the way to the end. I was a little weirded out when Axel showed up and some could and some couldn't see him. Lita is very happy she can see him even though Cade has been pining for her attention. Which has me a little weirded out.
A long painful journey ensues to get Dace back to his normal self while trying to get rid of Cade.
It proves to be an extremely trying time for Daire.
Daire and Dace go in search of Suriel to piece the puzzle together.

I was excited no elated when Daire and Phyre get their chance to fight it out. That was epic!
And things go boom, wow I didn't really see that coming!
This was a huge installment in the series, so big and packed with info.
And in the end packed with emotion and grief that is cutting.
I cried, seriously cried. I know that seom things are meant to be especially in this Seekers world but it doesn't mean this book didn't make me cry more than once or twice.
Most definitely a very, very good read down to the last word.
