-REVIEW REVISITED-
Darkness Of Light
By Stacey Marie Brown

Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo.

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for trouble teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

**Warning: The Darkness Series is not YA, but a NA Series.

Ember Brycin is misunderstood.
But she also seems to be followed by trouble.
She doesn't have a clue about why she is different from her peers. Other than the obvious physical differences, her unique eyes and her strange hair don't help her situation.
Strange things seem to happen around her.
Volatile things...

Her friends are equally uncool but don't carry the label of freak.
They are easy going and Ember's support.

After another violent episode, that cannot be proven that it had anything to do with Em, happens . It's all the fuel, suspicious Sheriff Weiss needs. He demands a psych evaluation and community service.
Ember has been put on a sort of "leave" from school to a place for troubled teens.
This puts her face to face with Eli Dragen. His allure is strange
Ember finds herself drawn to him yet he seems repulsed or angry somehow with her.
Ember has to come to terms with the things she has been repressing. Where is the line between what's real and what's not. Is she really losing it or learning about her true identity?

The intensity between Em and Eli was staggering! I was dumbfounded and  left breathless!

By the time Mark left for Tokyo I was on pins and needles! I couldn't read fast enough!
My nail polish suffered immensely!

I was enthralled, elated yet weary of what the underlying cause of the animosity towards each other. Ember and Eli seem meant to be but they're drawn together for a reason, and equally repulsed for a reason.
I was and wasn't prepared for the truth of what was really going on! And you will just have to read to find out!

This is a really great read! I enjoyed it immensely! I am going to be eagerly awaiting the next book!!! I recommend it a thousand times over!!!!
Thank you Stacey Marie Brown!

Okay so I really love the cast of characters! Ember, Mark, Ryan, Kennedy, Josh, Eli, Torin and Ms. Sanchez.
Not too hot about principle butthead and sheriff annoying. LOL.

Its always tragic when there is loss especially when it is a parent or both parents. It seemed to have made Em hard. Cold and unattached. But still she loved Mark, (Kudos to step dad BTW!) and you knew he loved her right off the bat.
That evil wench who provoked it all kind of helped Em in a way. She needed to know who she truly was. Even if it meant going through hell to find out.
I knew that whatever she was it was precious. That somehow she was needed and important. The whole way I questioned if Mark knew. Unfortunately for him he didn't. I was glad psycho seelie queen didn't get ahold of Ken and Ryan. I cannot even begin to imagine what is gonna go down between Lorcan and Eli! I imagine Eli is irate!
I wonder who the spies and allies are. Only the obvious was brought out. I wonder if Em's dad will come into the pic!? I have a theory about that but I'll keep it to myself!

Anyways all in all a really really good book!
I HAVE to know what happens next and you will too!
I cannot wait for the next book!

Love love love it!!

Very, Very glad book 2 is finally in my hands!!!

Stacey Marie Brown by day is an Interior/Set Designer, by night a writer of Paranormal Fantasy, Adventure, and Literary Fiction. She grew up in Northern California, where she ran around on her family’s farm, raising animals, riding horses, playing flashlight tag, and turning hay bales into cool forts. Even before she could write, she was creating stories and making up intricate fantasies. Writing came as easy as breathing. She later turned that passion into acting, living and traveling abroad, and designing. Though she had never stopped writing, moving back to San Francisco seemed to have brought it back to the forefront and this time it would not be ignored.

When she’s not writing she’s out hiking, spending time with friends, traveling, listening to music, or designing.
