- REVIEW - Fire In The Darkness by Stacey Marie Brown

-ARC-REVIEW-
Fire in The Darkness
(Book 2 in The Darkness Series)
by Stacey Marie Brown

It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.

And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.

Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.

Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?

No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

***This is NOT a YA Series but a New Adult(17+). Sexual Content and Language.***
(This is a Paranormal Romance)

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

We find Brycin four weeks after her powers are forced to surface in the worst way.
She has no allies but one man, Torin. He is only available to her in dream, but not physically per se, being close to her doesn't help her much anyway.
She's on the run from the Seelie Queen's minions all searching for her. Ember is Dae a mix of pure Fay and Demon. It makes her a most unusual and powerful asset.
The queen will stop at nothing to get her hands on Ember.
The thing lacking in the beginning of this story is Eli, the unforgettable force of nature that rocked Ember's world in book one. His brother had been his undoing, after all Eli wanted to get close to her and give her to the Unseelie King in trade. At least that was the original plan. But then he met Ember and things went way different until Lorcan his brother showed up.

Anyway, so Ember is on the run and steering clear of humans as well as all sorts of Fae.
The lack of Eli is quickly remedied as he enters the scene to be her 'knight in shining armor' but Ember is so not impressed.
She has no trust for him after his betrayal.

They go through the ringer and discover new things about themselves and each other.
The Dark Dwellers that are Eli's family are protecting Ember but she is leery. She knows that motive drives every person who is in her life at the moment.
Ember is forced to make some seriously hard decisions that are going to hurt one way or another.
When Lorcan strikes again tragedy looms and Ember runs away and where she ends up is shocking.
I was definitely shocked at Lars other name and just when I thought I had it figured out! I had only been half right!
She's getting trained and pumped full of knowledge about both Fay and Demon history as well as the prophecy.
She learns that some things aren't as they seem. Ember also finds out Torin was right about Lars.
With tensions flaring and everything she loves on the line Ember must learn to control her immense powers to save herself as well as the ones she loves.

This is a stunning read that will twist you and make you laugh, just hang on and enjoy the ride.

And oh the revelations... I really don't like Lorcan...

All in all an extremely satisfying NA read!

Purge your Ember Brycin and Eli Dragen fixation today!

*My Thoughts May Contain Slight Spoilers*

Ember's on the run from the psycho Seelie queen. She's keeping her distance from Fae and humans alike, she's afraid her powers will 'go off' again. She was mortified when she rocked Seattle.
Torin has been in touch with her only minimally leaving her to fend for herself, he holds a place in her heart since Eli ripped it out.
She just can't trust Eli after Lorcan spilled the beans on his plans in book one.
When he swoops in to be her savior I was all glued to the pages! Hanging on every word of their tit for tat. I love love love their interaction every time without fail!
I enjoyed the new characters and love the old ones all brought together in this epic second installment. Gabby's attitude kept her one of my favorites.
She goes and stays with them and begins training which was definitely fun to read. Owen finds strange things as he continues to test her blood.

Things quickly spiral out of control sending Ember on the run.
She gets 'rescued' by someone I immediately identify even of she doesn't.
I think I had some things figured out, early on, though I wasn't certain at first.

Way to blow my mind Stacey!
He is a wealth of knowledge and exchanges training for a mere favor from Ember.
She trains and meets more new characters.
Getting a great history and understanding of the Seelie, Unseelie and all that's in between was really great.
I did start to get eager to know what happened with Eli who I last read was being choked by vines...
I finished chapter 19 and went oooh! There's a Part 2! LOL
Eagerly reading away!
Months have gone by and her intense training has toned her skills but she still gets pushed to her limits.

She makes a crazy decision and it all comes to a head!
I won't spoil the ending to this book. Not ever!
YOU NEED TO READ THIS YOURSELF!!
Seriously I really had to force myself to sleep, blog and return emails! This book grabbed me, sucked me in and was refusing to let me go.
The things on the end of my fingers formerly known as fingernails suffered immensely while reading this book.

Ember and Eli are so explosive, ignited by each other until they burst in anger. Huffing out frustrations as their attraction burns through each of their resolve.
The viscosity of each interaction smolders through the pages thickly, sending shivers down my spine at the palpable intensity it embodies.

I would read the Darkness of Light Series again and again Book3?!
Stacey???

I went through a gauntlet of emotions in this fix of the Darkness of Light series.
The Tear Factor was up there for me and the emotional rollercoaster was an epic ride that doesn't disappoint!
