REVIEW - Scintillate by Tracy Clark

A mighty flame follows a tiny spark.

Cora Sandoval’s mother disappeared when she was five and they were living in Ireland. Since then, her dad has been more than overprotective, and Cora is beginning to chafe under his confines. But even more troubling is the colorful light she suddenly sees around people. Everyone, that is, except herself—instead, she glows a brilliant, sparkling silver.

As she realizes the danger associated with these strange auras, Cora is inexplicably drawn to Finn, a gorgeous Irish exchange student who makes her feel safe. Their attraction is instant, magnetic, and primal—but her father disapproves, and Finn’s mother orders him home to Ireland upon hearing he’s fallen in love. After a fight with her father, Cora flees to Ireland, both to follow Finn and to look for her missing mother.

There she meets another silver-haloed person and discovers the meaning of her newfound powers and their role in a conspiracy spanning centuries—one that could change mankind forever…and end her life.

Scintillate is the first book in this lush and exciting new trilogy, full of romance, adventure and metaphysical mystery.

TUESDAY TEASE - True Fate

Today's Tuesday Tease
is from my first YA Paranormal Fantasy
True Fate

Blurb

Strange things have always happened to Nia, and until now she’s written them off as flukes. At nineteen she has seen her fair share of odd occurrences and just feels lucky.

When Nia unknowingly spoke a prophecy on her eighteenth birthday she freaked out her best friend, Rhea. Nia realizes she needs to find some answers. Rhea makes her promise to go and see her Great Aunt Amarie, but she isn’t sure if her crazy aunt could really help.

Nia finds herself unexpectedly drawn to a stranger and begins dreaming of people who seem to know everything about her.

They offer little in the way of information as to how and why. It all feels too real but Nia is unsure, at least until she wakes up with a trinket from the encounter.

When dreams and reality collide Nia will have to face dangers she never knew existed. Ready or not she will have to discover her True Fate.

Now onto the Tease!

"Hello?”

"Hey honey," her mom, Margie’s lightly accented voice sang through the car speakers.

"Hi mom." Nia said biting her lip.

"How is everything going sweetie?" Margie asked.

"Great. Is something wrong mom?"

"What? No sweetie but your dad said to call you, he said and I quote, he hasn't heard from you in a while and he's worried. You know how he can be." Her mom said in the sweetest way possible.

"Sorry about that I have been kind of busy. Umm I'm kind of on a date right now." Nia explained wanting to melt under the seat as Aaron looked at her adoringly but she knew her cheeks were flush.

"Oh goodness, sweetheart! That's fantastic! How's it going? Do we know him? Is he cute?" Margie rattled off the string of questions before Nia could stop her.

Correction, she no longer wanted to hide, she wanted to die...... right now.

"Wow! Umm, mom? It's going great and no you don't know him yet and he is definitely hot.” She looked at him and he smiled. “His name is Aaron and by the way, you're on speaker."

“Oh... well... um, I'm sorry honey. And hello Aaron it's nice to sort of meet you. You're welcome at our home anytime." Margie said with a shaky and clearly mortified voice.

"Thank you Mrs. De La Garza" Aaron said wincing as he finally chimed in.

"Oh please call me Margie." Nia’s mom insisted.

"Okay, I'll try but I can’t guarantee it, that’s just how I was raised." He responded politely.

Interrupting Nia asked, "Hey, Mom? We’re headed that way. Is Dad there?"

"Oh, yes we're having a late dinner. I used the slow cooker. It's been a long day." Margie explained sounding tired.

"We can be there in thirty." Nia said feeling dread set in at the prospect of her dad meeting Aaron.

"Great! Well then I will see you soon honey! Bye!" Margie sung again as she hung up the phone ending all their awkward misery.

'That had to be the most embarrassing conversation in the history of my life.' Nia sent to Aaron because it was easier to think than say.

"It's fine really, I thought it was sweet. And I found out some interesting information too.” he said with a huge grin.

"Oh yeah, and what was that?” she asked laughing.

"You think I'm hot." Aaron said as a wide grin spread across his face.

Four Days Of Forever Fae - Day 3

https://www.goodreads.com/series/96196-forever-fae

The Land of the Fae is strong with all four courts banded as one, but uncertainty still remains as they all work together to end the dark sorcerer’s evil reign. Sorcha—the one and only Winter Court princess—has a secret, a secret that she has enjoyed keeping for the past six months. When a much awaited announcement brings her to the Spring Court, and face to face with the man in her dreams, will she be strong enough to keep up the façade of her icy exterior, or will she melt into his arms like she does in her dreams?

After formally meeting Sorcha at the Winter Ball, Drake—Summer Court prince and army leader—knew there was a fiery passion underneath her winter skin, a passion he wanted desperately to ignite with his own. However, with her frigid responses toward him he’s decided to keep his distance, except how can he when his dreams feel real? Seeing her again only ignites his interest, and this time he’s not going to let his arrogance or her frosty heart stand in his way.

Through unexpected tragedy, Sorcha discovers the one thing the dark sorcerer has spent his whole existence trying to protect, but what makes it more difficult is that only one of the Four is strong enough to retrieve it. The tides have now changed. With Drake’s help, will Sorcha find what she’s searching for? Or will the dark sorcerer beat them to it, shattering all hope of finding out the one thing that could save the Land of the Fae … how to destroy him?

Tuesday Teasers - True Fate

It's almost that time! My Beta Reader copy is just about finished!

I am so very excited about this next step towards finishing True Fate book 1!

Writing the book was a great experience and editing it has been painful, but deciding when the beta copy is ready has been agonizing! Knowing that other eyes will read my imperfect product is a scary thing. I am re-reading it myself and editing as I go. As a tattoo artist I thought I had learned to walk away and leave a project before overdoing it but I really want this book to be great for my readers.

I already have my real cover and I am dying to show it off but that's a no go! Who wants to take all the fun out of my cover reveal?
I am ironing out a few things and trying to figure out how to make the versions I will need for my beta readers but after that I am going to be sending it out. Just the prospect is a nail biter.

I am already writing book 2 True Chaos and it's coming along nicely although I wonder what type of word count I should be putting out per day.

If you are interested in becoming a beta reader for my True Fate series fill out the form HERE. I would like experienced readers in the YA Paranormal Fantasy genre. I am open to general YA beta readers as well.

**This is not to be confused with a read to review or an ARC although all approved beta readers will receive a finished copy of the book once it is available.

**Note: This does not guarantee you a spot as a beta reader.

Now on to the teaser!

Awakening
by
Samantha Long
When Sophie moves to Boston to get away from the people who ridiculed her for her psychic talents, she wants to start fresh. But when a demon attacks her study group at the library, she has no choice but to reveal her abilities to warn the others.

She learns the attacks won't stop until she's dead. To stay alive she joins forces with the other students and a secret society that has battled the demons for centuries.

The last thing she wants to do is be a pawn in the war of good and evil. When her visions start showing events from a past life, she can't ignore the connections it shows. She has no choice but to acknowledge the bonds that tie her to the other students, even if some of them refuse, to have the strength to defeat the demon that hunts them down.
